Food for Fines

As we head toward the end of the semester and academic year, you may have accumulated some pesky library fines. Not to fear, the Madison College Libraries will again be offering the "Food for Fines" service to make it easy for you to take care of your fines and feel good about helping someone out at the same time. Beginning Monday, April 18, for every can of non-perishable food you donate, we will knock $2 off of your fines. Questions? Ask at any of the Madison College Libraries.

NLW Essay Contest Winners (including some West students)

The winner of the Madison College Libraries National Library Week Essay Contest was Najeeb Ullah. Among the runner-up winners were West students Shaina Langlois and Eitan Barak. Way to go Shaina and Eitan! Thanks to everyone who entered.

Treats in the library on 4/11/11

Stop by the West Library (or any other Madison College Library) on Monday, April 4 for coffee, pastries, and other treats. We don't usually encourage food in the library, but today is an exception to celebrate National Library Week.

Want to win a Nook?

In conjunction with National Library Week, the Madison College Libraries are running an essay contest with the top prize being a NookColor and $50 Barnes & Noble gift card. The runner-up will receive an original Nook along with a $25 gift card. 3rd, 4th, and 5th place will each receive $25 gift cards.

Your essay will tell us how libraries have impacted your Madison College learning experience. It should be at least 500 words. Include your name, student ID number, e-mail address, phone number, and primary campus. Submit your essay electronically to madisoncollegelibrary@gmail.com by March 28. One entry per student. The winners will be announced on Monday, April 11.

Spring Break Library Hours

Spring Break is coming up the week of March 14-18. Hooray! The West Campus Library will be open from 7:45-4:00 Monday through Friday of that week.

If you're looking for some lighter reading during Spring Break, check out the current display in the West Library.

Remember also that all Madison College Libraries are closed on Friday, March 11 for staff convocation.
